We are pleased to announce the addition of Glen Watts to our staff as our Senior Wildlife Biologist. Glenn has spent the past 35 years working as a wildlife biologist for the Fish and Wildlife branch of the Government of British Columbia (and 2 years in the North West Territories) and has extensive knowledge of species distribution, management and control.
Glen’s experience includes:
- extensive species management with most large wildlife, including moose, deer, elk, sheep, goats, caribou, grizzly bear, black bear, wolves and other furbearers.
- extensive problem wildlife experience, particularly with grizzly bear, black bear and wolves.
- extensive large wildlife capture experience, using either chemical immobilization or net gun capture techniques in particular black bear, grizzly bear, wolves and moose.
- extensive experience using live capture techniques like snares and culvert traps for bears.
- extensive wildlife research experience.
- extensive knowledge of the trapping and guide outfitting industries in British Columbia.
- extensive experience in First Nation’s consultation.
- extensive experience in consulting with the public, industry, other government agencies and non government agencies.
- experienced in habitat management and large industrial development projects.
- skills in public speaking and training and education techniques.
