About Us

Wildlife Monitoring

Our company is dedicated to wildlife stewardship using hazard assessment and diversionary techniques to prevent attack by predatory wildlife. WorkSafe BC has mandated that remote workers that have a threat of dangerous wildlife are able to ensure their safety. The most common forms of mitigation are bear spray training and wildlife awareness and certified wildlife monitors on site. BCWM provides training and experienced Wildlife Control Monitors to help provide a safe working environment..

Professional Training

BCWM can train your staff on-site or in our classrooms. Our clear language training with practical exercises will reinforce good habits. Most wildlife and human conflicts can be prevented by workers making the effort to keep themselves safe.

In class and field training is available for camp and field staff. Training options vary from bear awareness techniques to bear spray training. We work with you to determine the best program that will yield the greatest benefits.

Wildlife Monitor Training

We offer 2 courses: Basic and Advanced Training. Basic is an introductory program for a new wildlife monitor to be able to operate in the field at a basic level. The goal is to train students to be able to provide hazard assessments in advance of field workers.

Wildlife Safety Training

We offer Wildlife Awareness Training for your employees so they feel comfortable around wildlife by having the know how of how to properly respond to an encounter with wildlife. Most wildlife and human conflicts can be prevented by workers making the effort to keep themselves safe.

Bear Safe and Bear Spray Training

We offer Bear Spray Endorsement as an extension to our Wildlife Awareness Training so your employees will feel comfortable knowing how to properly use bear spray to protect themselves and others.

This extension is only offered in-person as a result of having a practical review after the course.

Our Wildlife Monitors are readily identifiable to members of your staff. We take a proactive approach to worker safety from wildlife predators through efforts to minimize human / wildlife contact.
