BCWM can train your staff on-site or in our classrooms. Our clear language training with practical exercises will reinforce good habits. Most wildlife and human conflicts can be prevented by workers making the effort to keep themselves safe.
In class and field training is available for camp and field staff. Training options vary from bear awareness techniques to bear spray training. We work with you to determine the best program that will yield the greatest benefits.
BCWM has developed effective policies and procedures to ensure that safety is followed at all times and incidents are reported to ensure that possible conflicts are analyzed and dealt with accordingly.

Training Courses Offered By Backcountry Wildlife Monitoring
Wildlife Monitor Training
We offer 2 courses: Basic and Advanced Training. Basic is an introductory program for a new wildlife monitor to be able to operate in the field at a basic level. The goal is to train students to be able to provide hazard assessments in advance of field workers. The Advanced Training program are for those wishing to enter into a supervisory or training capacity of wildlife monitoring.

Backcountry Wildlife Monitors will receive their training at the Prince George Institute of Technology.
PGIT will provide quality and relevant education to workers in Northern BC and Alberta with a commitment to deliver programming that meets or exceeds industry standards.
With an eye to the future, PGIT will seek to create new courses and learning opportunities for workers in resource industries including mining, oil, natural gas and forestry.
